Fabrican Ltd e Catalytic Clothing - Silvia Deambrosis

FABRICAN LTD
Creation of a liquid suspension which is then sprayed by use of either a spray gun or an aerosol can. The fabric is formed by the cross-linking of fibres which adhere to create an instant non-woven fabric that can be easily sprayed on to any surface.

Use of different types of fibres from natural to synthetic, incorporating scents and colours (from primary to fluorescent); that provide great flexibility for modern consumer and industrial needs.
Garments could incorporate fragrances, active substances, or conductive materials to interface with information technolgy.
Fabrican spray-on fabric will liberate designers to create new and unique garments, offer a carrier technology for delivery of fragrance or even medical active substances, and allow the wearer to personalise their wardrobe in infinite combinations.

CATALYTIC CLOTHING
The project is born from the collaboration among the university of Sheffield, the London College of Fashion and the university of Ulster.

The dress has been realized thanks to a special material, a sort of particularly flexible concrete previously sprinkled on the fabric that grants the ability to break with the solo help of the sun the molecules of smog.
If 40 people wearing a catalytic garment crossed one meter sidewalk, in one minute they would purify around 2 meters meters cubes of air.
